Sherlock Pilot vs Study in Pink

This moment was so much gayer in the unaired pilot than in the aired version. I mean, it’s still pretty slashy in the aired ep, but in the unaired pilot… that’s just obvious flirtation.

#or am i just wearing my gay goggles all the time now #gay goggles for all!

It’s the change in cinematography, which would make sense considering the fact that the pilot and the actual episodes had different directors with their own different style, but regardless. The pilot has a warmer tint which is just a subliminal thing that gives you those fuzzy feels in your belly, but if you notice, the actual first episode is tinted with slightly cooler colors (loooooots of blue and white) which may or may not have been put there to quench the awesome gayness of the scene but I believe that it was.

Secondly, the pilot was more personal, with a lot of closer shots of each actor’s face which gives the audience a sense that the characters themselves are both closer in proximity and general emotion (they never break eye contact). That coupled with the fact that Martin plays a totally and completely infatuated Watson in the pilot vamps up the ultimate result: the pilot is defiantly more gay. In contrast the actual episode they are obviously much father apart from each other, which sends those subliminal messages to the audience that they have not quite bonded yet. It’s also quite obvious that Benedict is playing a totally different Sherlock in the actual series vs the pilot.

And it’s always the same 2 blue eyes comparisons. The ocean or the sky. Like come on at least be creative.

His eyes were as blue as the blue liquid used in commercials for Always Pads.

His eyes were as blue as the lips on a corpse in the morgue
